Enhanced Performance & Efficiency At Low Temperatures

Mitsubishi Electric has launched a new series of outdoor units for both the City Multi and Mr Slim air conditioning systems with the Zubadan range, which provide excellent heating performance even at outside ambient temperatures as low as -25ºC.

The Zubadan models incorporate flash injection technology which delivers full capacity down to -15ºC and improved capacity heating down to -25ºC. The time and frequency that these models run in defrost mode is also reduced, with start up times to achieve full heating capacity being reduced by up to 50 per cent when compared to standard (non-Zubadan) models.

“We have advanced the offering with our unique Zubadan technology which increases efficiencies and capacities, whilst maintaining a higher level of occupancy comfort at these low ambient operating conditions,” explained Philip Ord, Product Marketing Manager for Mitsubishi Electric.

Four new models are available in the new City Multi Zubadan heat pump range (PUHY-HP) offering capacities from 22.4kW to 56kW. These offer up to 40 per cent improvement in heating capacities over standard models at low ambient temperatures.

The units have pipe runs of up to 300 metres and can connect up to 43 indoor units to offer increased flexibility of design. With energy-saving inverter-driven outdoor compressors, the units are extremely energy efficient and have very low starting currents.

The Mr Slim range is one of Britain’s best selling air conditioning systems and the new Zubadan models use the same unique flash injection technology used in the City Multi Zubadan models.

Four new models are available in the Mr Slim range, two single phase units (7.1kW and 10.0kW) and two 3-phase models (10.0kW and 12.5kW). These all have the ability to connect to the new PKA wall-mounted units, the PEAD concealed ducted models and the latest PLA ceiling cassette models for both single and twin split systems.

The City Multi Zubadan range is ideal for medium to large commercial applications where maintaining heating performance and comfort is essential, even at extremely low ambient conditions. The Mr Slim Zubadan models are more suited to small to medium-sized applications.

“We have always designed our City Multi and Mr Slim ranges to allow complete flexibility for our customers and the inclusion of new Zubadan technology takes this one step further, delivering high performance whatever the weather,” added Ord.
