Daikin Europe NV has won an IF Product Design Award for its recently introduced ‘Emura’ design led heat pump room air conditioning fan coil unit. Now in its 56th year, the prestigious IF Product Design Award, organised by International Forum Design GmbH, is one of the best known international design competitions. The award to Daikin for 2010 comes within the ‘Buildings’ category and took account of Emura’s design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, functionality, innovation, environmental consciousness, ergonomics and safety features.
The Emura unit – itself the end result of an international in-depth design study – is an elegant, technologically advanced and highly energy efficient wall mounted unit, conceived to harmonise with any interior décor. Possessing an EER up to 4.46 (energy label ‘A’) and available in three classes with capacities from 2.5 to 5.0kW, Emura offers low noise operation with a minimum sound pressure rating of just 22dBA. Finished in visually striking brushed aluminium or white plastic, Emura is a complete and sophisticated indoor comfort system that can cool, heat, ventilate and humidify any room as required.
The IF Seal of Excellence covers Emura’s entire life cycle and the award itself will be announced publicly during a ceremony on 2nd March at the 2010 CeBIT Exhibition in Hanover and will remain on display in the IF pavilion in the Hanover Exhibition Centre until August. It will also feature permanently on the IF website www.ifdesign.de.
